Grandpa Jones meets Dean-bean!!

Grandpa Jones came to town to see his little Abby-Lou & to meet Baby Dean. He was a huge help with Abby & she kept him busy. I told him he would be tired by the time he went home, & I think she did in fact, wear him out.

Here are a couple of pictures of Abby holding Dean. She has been adjusting nicely so far- much better than I expected. Abby doesn't pay a whole lot of attention to him at this point, except for small gestures such as saying, "bless you Dean" when he sneezes. Once, when I told her Dean had a tummyache (gas), she leaned over and gave him a kiss. Another time, she gave him his little blanket while he was in the swing while she thought I wasn't paying attention; it was the cutest thing. I am sure she will be bossing him around in no time ;-)

Finally! We have straightened out all of our technical difficulties with the computer!!! Here are some pictures from the hospital, just after Dean's arrival. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with the birth & delivery. Everything went very smoothly. Grandma Sue & Gaga/Papa took care of Miss Abby while we were in the hospital; we were fortunate to have so much help while we were "away".

Baby Dean has arrived!

Dean Lucas was born on August 6th at 12:31 a.m. He weighed in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 20 inches long. When he first entered the world, Tye & I both said something along the lines of, "it's Abby", because he looked exactly like her! So far, he is a very easy and mellow baby. We feel very blessed. We are having technical difficulties uploading pictures onto the blog. Pictures will be forthcoming.... sorry to leave you in suspense ;-)
